Who We Are
Kinnaird Church of God is a community of people in Castlegar, British Columbia who are seeking to follow the way of Jesus together. Our desire is to grow in faith, care for one another, and share the love of Christ with our community.
We believe church is more than a place to attend — it is a family where people support one another, learn together, and walk through life together.
Everyone is welcome, whether you are exploring faith for the first time, returning to church after many years, or looking for a church family.
Our Beliefs
Our faith is based on the teachings of the Bible. While Christians may differ on some interpretations, we hold to several core beliefs:
God is one, revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Bible is the Word of God and our guide for faith and life.
Jesus Christ lived, died, and rose again to bring salvation and forgiveness.
Salvation is offered through the grace of Jesus Christ.
Every person has been given free will to respond to God.
The Holy Spirit works in the lives of believers to bring transformation and spiritual growth.
Believers are called to live lives that reflect the love and character of Jesus.
We practice believer’s baptism and the observance of the Lord’s Supper.
Jesus will return again.
Our Church Family
Kinnaird Church of God is part of Canadian Church of God Ministries (CCOGM) in Western Canada. Together with other congregations in our region, we are connected to the wider Church of God movement, a global family of churches that began in the 1880s.
Today the movement includes thousands of churches around the world. Many of the global ministries associated with the Church of God movement are based in Anderson, Indiana.
Churches within this movement work together in mission and ministry while also allowing local congregations the freedom to serve their communities in unique ways.
Our Heritage
The Church of God movement grew out of the Holiness Movement, which emphasized unity among believers and a life transformed by the Holy Spirit.
Rather than focusing on denominational divisions, the movement has historically sought to build on the beliefs Christians share in common and to work together in faith and mission.
